Looking ahead to Sunday's first match, and we reckon it could pay to look into the corners trends in this one.

Liverpool have the best corners record in the division when it comes to playing away from home - they have been awarded 118 corners on their travels with just 61 against. That's some going, and they average a whopping 4 corners per match more than their opponents.

West Brom on the other hand are pretty poor at forcing corner kicks - perhaps surprisingly given their threat once they get into set play positions. The are awarded just 4.1 per home game (the league average is 5.5 for a home side).

The bookmakers have set the corner handicap line at -2 Liverpool, and that's a line Liverpool would have covered in 9 of their 16 games this season. With West Brom looking ripe for the picking in this market, we recommend getting stuck in.

Looking at the Goal Scorer markets, Gareth McAuley is surely too long at 10/1 to score at any point in the game with Paddy Power. The big centre half is perfectly positioned to exploit Liverpool's weakness when it comes to defending set-pieces and the Northern Irishman has scored in 7 of his 35 matches for WBA this season.
