The PGA Tour heads south to Texas this week and while it’s a course which should reward big hitters, previous winners here haven’t always fitted that template.

Matt Kuchar (our 80/1 e/w tip in the Masters who finished 4th) heads the market and probably justifies that tag with three top 15 finishes here in the last five years.
We prefer Charley Hoffman this week however, who has been an absolute model of consistency round this track since 2011. In six starts he has finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 11th, 11th and 13th. He’s never missed a cut, and his average score over those 24 rounds in a shade over 70.5, including 8 rounds in the 60s
With a 2nd place at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and tied fourth at the Genesis Open, Hoffman looks in decent shape to win again.
Further down the order Daniel Summerhays is another to catch the eye based on previous form here. Since missing the cut in 2011, the American has secured 2nd place in 2014, 4th in 2015, and 7th in 2013. Last year it was a respectable 13th, and this is clearly a course he loves playing. He’s shot an average 70.4 over his last 16 rounds here, so is capable of going low again.
Paddy Power are offering a generous 7 places on the each-way this week (albeit with place terms trimmed to 1/5th odds), but that’s enough to persuade us to head there for both our bets this week.
Hoffman to win e/w at 20/1 (7 places) Summerhays to wn e/w at 66/1 (7 places)
