We've missed a couple of days on the horse front after struggling to find runners who fitted the criteria we've been targetting. But the 8pm at Perth has delivered another hot prospect and it could be worth backing Wot a Shot at 7/2 before the price gets gobbled up.

This race is almost a carbon copy of his last time out win over course and distance, and while the handicappers have raised him 10 lbs for that win, he should have enough in hand against a field that looks ominiously similar - Kisumu, Bahrikate, Motion to Strike and Novo Dawn all went to post in that one, and all found themselves resoundingly beaten. All are running up in weight due to the class drop, and it's hard to see anyone getting to near the favourite.
Trainer Nicky Richards has a decent record over hurdles, especially with more senior horses - Wot a Shot is 8 - and you'd have made a profit blindly backing Richards runners aged 5,6,7 and 8 over the past five years in hurdle handicaps.
