League One Picks

We're throwing just one arrow at League One this week - Bristol Rovers as they welcome Peterborough. On paper, Rovers look a weaker squad than last season, but Darrell Clarke has a proven track record of success, and having narrowly missed out on the play-offs last season, it would take a brave man to bet against him continuing to improve the club again this time around.

They kicked off the season with a 1-0 reversal at Charlton, but it was a game where they saw the better of the ball, and could easily have taken the points away themselves on a different day.

Peterborough finished just behind Rovers last season, and made hard work of Plymouth on the opening day. They did ultimately prevail 2-1, but it was a match which saw Plymouth threaten to level up several times.

At 21/20 with William Hill, The Pirates look decent value to get their season going this afternoon.
