Southampton opened their Premier League campaign with a disappointing 0-0 draw with Swansea, but it could have been a very different story has Saints been slightly more clinical. They produced more shots in that match than any other side managed on the opening day of the season (29 to be precise), while Swansea were limited to four - of which none hit the target.

They will be keen to make up for lost time when they meet West Ham on Saturday, a side who were well beaten 4-0 at Old Trafford. The Red Devils dominated that match (22-9 on shots, and 6-1 on Shots On Target) so the Hammers couldn't have too many complaints.

Last season, Southampton finished a full 21 points ahead of West Ham, and won half of their home games against sides outside the Top 10 - lost just once. West Ham by contrast never really seemed to recover from the loss of Dimitri Payet - win just four of their 17 competitive matches since he departed in the January window.

With Saints enjoying a pretty stable summer in terms of keeping the lions share of the squad together, there is no reason they cannot continue the consistency which has seen them finish inside the Premier League Top 8 for the past four season's

Southampton to beat West Ham at 4/5 (Blacktype)

Southamton to beat West Ham 1-0 at 13/2 (General)
