It's quite astonishing, but Denis Shapovalov is now just third favourite with some bookmakers to win the US Open - in his first visit to the tournament proper.

He visited as a junior in 2015, and of course has a junior Wimbledon title under his belt last season, but his rise has been nothing short of meteoric.
Those outright odds (he's as short as 10/1) are probably going a little far, but we reckon he has every chance of progressing into the semi-finals when he plays Pablo Carreno Busta on Sunday.
Firstly, you simply cannot ignore his form. He has dropped just a single set thus far this week, despite meeting Tsonga and Edmund, and was a semi-finalist in the Rogers Cup last time out. That tournament saw him knock out Rafael Nadal and Juan Martin Del Potro as well. Prior to that, there was a semi-final and a winning Challenger both on hard courts, so confidence must be oozing through his veins.
Things start to get tough at this stage of course, but in drawing Carreno Busta he has a man who isn't ideally suited to the conditions, and he should be able to take advantage. The Spaniard hasn't been hugely tested so far, having played three qualifiers in the first three rounds.
Back Shapovalov at 4/5 to win this one with Corals
