We start our Tuesday World Cup previews in the Middle East, where Iran may enjoy a comfortable night against Syria in the Azadi Stadium. If you've beenn following us over the weekend, you'll have seen plenty of our Elo Ratings based stuff - something we like to use for international teams to help draw up a potential shortlist before we shorten it further.

Iran are well rated on the model, with a significantly higher standing than Syria, something that has shown in them topping Group A of the the third qualifying stage -they have 21 points from nine games, and remain undefeated with six wins and three draws.

They have lost just once in their last 22 matches, keeping 16 clean sheets in that run.

Syria are some way back on 12 points, and Iran look very backable at 29/20 with William Hill. It's a stand out price, so 11/8 would remain acceptable if the price goes.

2pts Iran to beat Syria at 29/20 with Will Hill
