There are just a couple of bets in the top flight which have caught out eye this weekend.

We'll start over on Merseyside, where Everton surely have a better chance on home soil against Spurs than their odds of 3/1 on the Betfair Exchange suggest.

Everton lost just twice at home last season, and while Lukaku has moved on, much of the spine of the team remains, and there is little reason to suggest that things should change too much this season.

Spurs on the other hand really struggled away from home against the better sides - indeed, it arguably cost them the title after they went unbeaten at home throughout the campaign. They collected just nine points on the road against top half clubs, but 24 against sides in the bottom half.

1pt Everton to beat Tottenham at 3/1

Only Sunderland scored fewer goals at home than Southampton last season, while no side outside the top seven was more efficient at keeping the opposition out. In short, it was a pretty boring season to be a Saints fan in terms of goals, and things may not chance too much this season.

17 of their 27 home matches ended with two goals or less, and four were goalless. With a couple of 0-0s already on the board for Southampton this season again, we fancy another tight affair at St Mary's.
