Moto GP action comes from Imola today, and the rain looks likely to stay torrential for most of the day - something we have to consider very carefully in our betting.

With Valentino Rossi out with a broken leg, Marc Marquez would have been hoping to close the championship gap on Andrea Dovizioso, but the Italian is a master of the wet conditions, which should go someway to negating the advantage of pole position for Marquez.

Dovizioso often showed his talent in the wet long before he established himself as a Moto GP front runner, so he has to be considered a very real danger, while Danilo Petrucci also has to be considered - his best results have come in wet conditions - think back to Silverstone 2015 (2nd to Rossi), Assen 2016 (was winning when the race was stopped) and Assen this year - 2nd to Rossi again!

Both Pedrosa and Marquez fell in warm-up this morning and Jorge Lorenzo has offered very little this season, so it makes sense to split our stakes on the two real wet weather men at the front of the pack.

Petrucci was 2nd fastest in warm up while Dovizioso was down in 8th, but there's enough previous form to trust him to be competitive in the race.

Split the stakes with a point e/w on Dovi and Petrucci.

1pt e/w Dovizioso at 9/2

1pt e/w Petrucci at 11/2
