The European Tour heads to the Algarve this week for the Portugal Masters around the beautiful Vilamoura, and the flat course tends to produce low scoring winners. This is the 11th running of the event at this track.

We'll start by mentioning the most obvious name - Andy Sullivan. The Englishman won here in 2015, and followed up with a 2nd place last season, but his form has been patchy to say the least since then, and we're not brave enough to back a man who hasn't posted anything insde the top 50 since July regardless of recent course form.

Instead, try looking at Ryan Fox, who is coming here for the first time. The New Zealander has enjoyed an excellent season, rising to 103rd in the world, and beginning to put together some solid European Tour results to go with his previous promising performances on the Challenger Tour.

He's posted his best results on tour over the past couple of months, including a 6th in the Open de France in July, then T4 at both the Irish Open and the Scottish Open, and a T9 in the Omega European Masters a fortnight ago. All in all, he's a man playing some great golf, who should be respected - Coral's 7 places at 1/5 odds looks the way to go on Fox - he's 33/1.

Stephen Gallacher is a man who tends to save some of his best golf for this event, and he's posted 6-3-9-12 on his last four visits, so cannot easily be ignored at 50/1. The Scot has struggled somewhat this season, but posted a 20th place at the European Masters, and a 12th at the Porsche European Open. We'd ideally like to see a bit more recent form, but the price allows us to take a chance in what is a weaker field than usual (there is only 1 player ranked inside the Top 50 in the world taking part this week).

Finally, Robert Rock is another with great course form - he's finished 5th and 9th in the last two renewals, and the 116th in 2014 came in a tournament abandoned after two rounds due to the horrendous weather. He's another who hasn't made a huge impact this season, but at 66/1 warrants a small roll of the dice.

1pt e/w Ryan Fox at 33/1 (Coral 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7)

1pt e/w Stephen Gallacher at 50/1 (Coral 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7)

1pt e/w Robert Rock at 66/1 (Coral 1/5 1,2,3,4,5,6,7)
