The Steel City Derby - the biggest day of the year for anyone in the South Yorkshire city, and a passionate occassion. Anyone who thinks this is anything other than one of the biggest derbies in the country has never been to one.

So where does this leave us from a betting perspective? Well general wisdom suggest that Wednesday probably hold a very slight advantage this season, but it's not enough to have the bookmakers running for cover and we actually reckon there could be a little value in the draw in this one.

It's helped slightly by this being a fairly level match (Wednesday are 11/10 favourites), but a look through the history books gives enough weight to throw a small bet on the stalemate. The pair have met 22 times since the Premier League was formed, and drawn no fewer than 9 of those (41%) - Of course its not a huge sample, but it's not exactly unexpected either, so is easy enough to explain. No side wants to lose this match, and the mentality in sporting situations such as this always gifts an advantage to the team chasing the game. This is only amplified in a game such as this.

1pt Sheffield Wed v Sheffield Utd to be a draw at 23/10
