Malaysian GP (Post Qualifying)

A very brief one this week unfortunately, so we are getting straight to the facts. Malaysia is famous for its huge thunderstorms, which have resulted in cancelled races in the past. Rain is forecast again, so beware. Sebastian Vettel starts at the back, Lewis Hamilton at the front, so the Ferrari man will be hoping for Safety Cars to keep bunching them up and shouldn't be completely ruled out.

Our value picks this week start with Daniel Ricciardo. With seven podiums in his last ten starts, he is Mr Reliable, and the car looks decent enough here to land another. It's not as quick as Ferrari or Mercedes, but it hasnt been all season, and their race pace looks decent on the basis of practice runs. Hes 11/10 which looks big enough.

For the points, chuck a point at Pierre Gasly who reached Q3 in qualifying so clearly has pace. A grid demotion won't help, but at 9/2 we'll take a chance given the unpredictability of a wet race. He'll surely tiptoe around to start with given his experience, which could be a positive.

Finally, Fernando Alonso is worth backing at 11/4 for the Top 6 - the McLaren could be the beneficiary of a wet race, and a top 6 isn't beyond him if things all get thrown into the air here.
