Marienstar is a rare runner for trainer Neil King when she tackles the large step up in trip to 2m 7f - a rise of over 4f from his last effort. That would usually be a worry, but King has form at this sort of step change so we aren't concerned.

This will only be King's 20th runner at Southwell since 2013, but with a 20%+ strike rate at the track he clearly prefers quality over quantity. In fact, whichever way you cut it, he is achieving 20%+ strike rate here - including handicappers, at this class, over hurdles, handicap hurlers and 6-year olds. There is a lot in his favour.
Back to the step up in trip, King has won four and placed a further 3 times from his runners stepping up 20% or more in trip from 17 starts over the past couple of seasons, so don't be unduly concerned.
1pt e/w Marienstar at 9/2 in the 3:45 Southwell
