We've had a fair bit of fun on the EFL Trophy this season after writing our trends piece back in August.

Since that article we've seen another 30 matches between football league sides and academy U21 sides - all at Football League venues of course given the way the tournament is running this season.
16 have been home wins, there have been eight draws, and 6 have gone the way of the U21 sides. Men against boys it continues therefore. We also broke down the stats into League 1 and League 2 if you recall, and the differential results have continued into 2017/18.
League One sides have won 12 of their 16 encounters (12-3-1) while League Two have been more level (4-5-5).
It's with great interest then that Bristol Rovers are offered at 5/6 in a match they should surely expect to win. Bouyed by a pretty happy home crowd this season, and they definitely warrant support ahead of this one. Seven sides have covered the -1 handicap this season from 16 starts, so it's also worth taking a punt on the handicap in our view.
3pts Bristol Rovers to beat West Ham U21 at 5/6
1pt Bristol Rovers (-1) to beat West Ham U21 at 21/10
