Denmark v Rep of Ireland

Ireland face a massive match when they travel to Denmark this evening and will be looking to neutralise the considerable threat of Christian Eriksen - the Danes talismanic midfielder.

Ireland qualified in second place from the group - beating Wales (as tipped here) in the final round of matches, and will be trying to qualify for their first World Cup since 2002. It certainly feels a long time since they have been there. They will surely come into this game looking to park the bus and keep things tight - especially given Jonathan Walters is out of the match. That means in all likelihood, a backs to the wall job with Daryl Murphy asked to lead the line on his own, and Martin O'Neill's side would be delighted to return home with the scores level.
Denmark scored 20 goals in qualifying, but it's worth nothing that they got seven of those agaisnt Kazakhstan and a further five against Armenia, and failed to beat both Romania and Montenegro at home, so defintiely have chinks in their armour.
With the team work ethos that the Irish squad have consistently shown, there is no reason at all that a plan of neutralisation shouldn't work on the Danes, and the draw looks the obvious pick here in a match which is trading as short as 4/9 on Under 2.5 Goals.
1pt Denmark v Ireland to be a draw at 5/2 (General)
