EFL Trophy

If you've had the Champions League shoved down your throat enough for one week, why not branch out into the prestige and glamour of the EFL Trophy.

We will start at Lincoln - a side with a decent enough home record, and who have taken this competition as seriously as anyone this season, opting to name a pretty much full strength team in each of the three group matches. They take on an Accrington side who have been rather less commited to the challenge before them so far.

Lincoln qualified with maximum points, while Accrington scraped their way through, but this game looks to have been priced up with League Two form in mind, rather than factoring in the motivations of the respective managers.

Of course we shouldn't ignore that Accrington are a side in good form, but Lincoln can play a bit at home, and they look value at 11/8 here.

Regular followers will know we aren't exactly fans of the U21 sides in this, opposing them regularly, but we'll make an exception for Swansea U21. Having collected maximum points from their group games, they have clearly been carefully prepared for these matches.

They face Karl Robinson's Charlton and the Addicks have clearly deprioritised this competition. Multiplying each players starts in this competition but his starts in the League produces a sum total of 105 - the lowest total of any of the sides left in the knock out rounds, and it's a clear indication of how seriously Robinson views this. With his side on the edge of the play-offs it's hard to see his approach changing for this one, and a weak looking squad might travel to Swansea. Take Corals 23/20 on Swansea is the advice.

Finally, Yeovil against AFC Wimbledon is a similar match up, where the League Two side might be a little more up for this. With a relegation scrap developing in front of AFC Wimbledon, they could be forgiven for marking this match up as an inconvenient distraction, and whilst the same might be true of Yeovil to a certain extent, they did appear to commit themselves to this tournament in the group stages collecting eight points from their three matches. Home advantage makes the 9/4 on offer with Bet365 too long in our eyes.

1pt Lincoln to beat Accrington at 11/8

1pt Swansea U21 to beat Charlton at 23/20

1pt Yeovil to beat AFC Wimbledon at 9/4
