La Liga strugglers Alaves and Las Palmas meet at the Mendizorroza Stadium on Friday night, and we reckon this could be a match of many goals – neither side really seems to know how to defend this campaign with the visitors standing out with the worst rear-guard in the division. After 14 matches, they have already conceded 32 goals, while Alaves are only marginally better with 24 against.

Looking through both teams’ games this season shows a strong trend for matches ending in high scoring results, so it’s surprising that the Over 2.5 Goals can be backed at odds-against prices.
Starting with Alaves, seven of their 16 games this season have ended with three or more goals, but that record would have been even stronger had they played their part in a number of matches earlier in the season. Their last four have ended 2-3, 3-0, 1-2, 4-1. It’s worth nothing they didn’t score until their 6th match of the season, but have now netted in each of their last seven. Of the seven games which have landed the Over 2.5 Goals bet, five have come at home from eight matches.
Las Palmas have seen the Over 2.5 Goals land in 10 of 17 matches this season, and six of their eight away matches. That run on the road has included a 3-1 win at Malaga, a 4-1 win at Deportivo and a 2-2 draw at Sociedad, so they are clearly happy to entertain fans at both ends of the park.
With both sides in huge need of a result, a draw really wouldn’t be a great deal of use to either in their present predicament, so 100% effort to the end should be assured.
