We'll start with Charlton this week despite them carrying a few injuries in the squad as they take on Oldham, who look to be a side plunged into crisis all of a sudden.

Charlton will be without defender Jason Pearce after suffering a set-back in his return to fitness, and they will also battle on without Chris Solly, Tariqe Fosu and Billy Clarke, while Nady Sarr and Harry Lennon could be given a rest. Charlton also come into this match without a win in eight league matches. So why do we fancy them at a shade of odds-against?

Well Oldham have endured a pretty turmultous week, with four first team regulars suddenly stripped from the squad. Jack Byrne, Kean Bryan and Eoin Doyle have all been recalled from thier loan spells, while club captain Peter Clarke has been loaned out to relegation rivals Bury in what looks a bizarre decision.

We're never one for history picking a bet, but it's interesting to note that Oldham have never won at the Valley in 25 attempts.....and they have also conceeded more goals on the road this season than any other side with the exception of Southend.

With Oldham winning just twice on the road this season, we'll take Charlton at 13/10 in this one.

2pts Charlton to beat Oldham at 13/10 (Stan James)
