Middlesbrough have a lot of adjusting to do after the arrival of Tony Pulis just before the New Year, and on the evidence so far, they are finding it tougher than expected. Since his arrival, Boro have won four, drawn one and lost five, despite playing six of those matches at home. Nevertheless, the bookmakers are quoting them significantly odds-on to beat Hull when the pair meet on Tuesday, and that could be a mistake in our view.

While Hull are in all sorts of bother at the wrong end of the table, their results in general have probably not fairly matched their endeavour and chances if truth be told, and a little more lady luck through the season could easily have seen the Tigers nearer to mid-table than the bottom, and we’re confident they will pull through and avoid relegation. The January signing of Harry Wilson on loan from Liverpool looks to have been a shrewd piece of business as well. Take the early prices on Hull is the advice here.

1pt Hull to beat Middlesbrough at 9/2 (General)

1pt Hull (+1) to beat Middlesbrough at 5/4 (Bet365)

Millwall against Sheffield Wednesday might not be the prettiest game on the card on Tuesday, and we’re going to target the Under 1.5 Goals market in this one.

Since arriving at the Owls, Jos Luhukay has tightened things up considerably - focusing on the defence as his first task. It’s a strategy which has seen his side keep seven clean sheets in ten matches, and ensured they have lost just once under his tenure so far. Six have been draws however - four of them 0-0’s and that has helped towards an average of just 1.4 goals per match being scored since his arrival.

There’s a decent chance Millwall will play their part in this bet as well - their last five games have seen just six goals, and they aren’t the most exciting side in the division by any stretch of the imagination.

1pt Under 1.5 Goals in Millwall v Sheff Wed at 7/4 (General)
