Raced over 2m 1f, this is something of a mine-field and it can sometimes pay to look for the longer priced selections in this one.

Trends
- 6 from 11 have been French bred
- 5 from 6 returned at between 25/1 and 40/1
- 6 from 11 have run exactly three times previously
- 6 from 10 won last time out before the festival
- 7 from 11 were beaten on their first two starts over hurdles
- 8 from 11 ran within 25 days of the Festival
- 6 of the last 7 came from the bottom half of the weights
- 12 from 12 were rated between 124 and 134
Our Picks
The first one we like is actually the co-favourite - Mitchouka. Having won three of his starts on soft ground, and also the only class winner in the field, he has to be respected. The only issue is the weight he carries into this, which is inconvenient, but he's a proven performer over the distance as well which bodes very well for his chances. He's clearly the class horse in the race though, so I can't bring myself to ignore him on in this one.
At the other end of the spectrum Grand Sancy is given the biggest break on the weights, and can surely go well for Paul Nicholls and Sam Twiston-Davies. He's a proven runner when the going is on the soft side and Paul Nicholls has enjoyed success a plenty in this race before.
And finally a trend horse - The King of May. He's a brench bred runner, coming in on the second half of the weights, and rated a handy 128. He ran recently (not quite within the 25 days, but close enough) and performed admirably up at Musselburgh behind We Have A Dream.
1pt ew Mitchouka at 10/1 (Five places 1/5 Ladbrokes)
1pt e/w Grand Sancy at 20/1 (Five places 1/5 Ladbrokes)
1pt ew The King of May at 11/1 (Five places 1/5 Ladbrokes)
