Bristol City should have the ability and motivation to come out on top of Barnsley when the pair meet at Oakwell – the Tykes recording just three home wins all season so far. While the season didn’t start well for Barnsley, it hasn’t really got much betterm and they have now won just twoce since the middle of November – that run stretches 24 matches, and has seen them concede 39 goals in all, for just 16 themselves, and they have only scored more than once on one occasion!

The Robins haven’t dominated themselves since the turn of the year, but seem to have steadied the ship now, and really need to push on if they are to reach the play-offs. Back to back home wins against Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich will have helped confidence and they have now kept clean sheets in three of their last four outings.

This looks an away win all the way, and 6/4 is surely a touch long on Bristol Rovers. It could also be worth a small bet on Barnsley scoring exactly one goal at the same price – it’s happened in 14 of their last 24 matches.

Next up we have Bolton, who make the short trip into Yorkshire to face Leeds – a side who are now looking ahead to a 16th consecutive season outside the top flight! The hosts are just 11 points ahead of Bolton after 38 games played, and with just seven home wins all season aren’t the sort to strike fear into anyone’s hearts this season.

Of course, Bolton have won just once on the road themselves this season, but nevertheless, odds of even money on United look unreasonably short when you consider recent form. They have won just once since Boxing day, with an overall record in that time frame of 1-5-9.

Bolton by contrast have really improved, winning five, drawing five and losing five in the same time frame, and that has to give them a shot in this one. We successfully tipped them at 4/1 last week to beat Villa, turning out to be quite the scalp, and this week’s odds of 7/2 suggest another play should be in order.

1pt Bolton to beat Leeds at 7/2
