Cardiff v Wolves

Despite recording 15 wins from 20 home matches in the Championship this season, the bookmakers have still chalked Cardiff up at 2/1 when they entertain Wolves on Friday night in front of what is expected to be a capacity crowd of over 33,000 for this top of the table crunch match. It’s precisely the sort of occasion that Bluebirds’ manager Neil Warnock loves and he should be in his element getting his charges ready for this one.

Wolves are due plenty of credit for their achievements this season, but we should not overlook the fact that a win for Cardiff tonight would see just three points between the pair, with the Welsh side in possession of a game in hand. Are they really 2/1 shots?
Neither side are reporting any team news of great significance, whilst form-wise it’s very hard to fault the hosts ahead of this one. Cardiff have won nine of their last 11, with the two blips being away trips to Sheffield United and Millwall, which were each honours shared.
Wolves have a similarly impressive record – 7-3-2 over their last 12 matches, but it’s surely not enough to make them favourites in this one given the home advantage enjoyed by Warnock’s side. It’s also worth nothing, that Fulham are snapping at the heels of Cardiff particularly now, so there is surely extra motivation for the side who look closer to that threat.
3pts Cardiff to beat Wolves at 2/1 (Betfred)
