Chris Wakelin surprisingly thrashed Tian Pengfei in the final qualifying round this week, but his jubilation probably soon turned sour when he was drawn against a player who has given him some severe beatings over the years, Judd Trump.

A look at the head-to-head record says it all; 7-0 to Trump and Wakelin has only won 6 frames in total. Trump has a similar record vs a number of lower ranked players largely due to his attacking style which bullies’ players who aren’t capable of mixing their own game up to turn the table scrappy and who can’t match the break building.

Although Trump’s form has been much better since Christmas, he is flying under the radar this year and he will be desperate to avenge a 1st round defeat this time last year. The draw is ok for him and he’ll be expecting to start with a comfortable

3pts Judd Trump -3.5 frames at 4/6 (Sky Bet, Bet365)
