The market isn't particularly keen on Gilles Simon in this one, struggling to split the pair, but despite a notable difference between the men in the overall rankings, we're confident the Frenchman should be a decent favourite in this one.

If you've read our columns for long enough, you'll know that surface is everything, and Querrey simply isn't a clay courter and won't enjoy this encounter one little bit.
Simon is ranked 65th in the world overall, and he's a genuine cross court player. He's collected 360 ranking points from six clay court events to go towards that ranking. Querry by contrast simply hates this surface. Despite being ranked 15th in the world overall, he's 150th on just the clay rankings, collecting 155pts from five events.
It's a pattern bourne out again over their career court choices - Simon has played 31% of his career matches on clay, winning 60% of them, while Querrey has ventured onto the surface for just 17% of his matches, winning 48% of those.
Simon also reached the final in Lyon last week, which was certainly handy preparation for this - only Dominic Thiem proving too strong in the final ultimately.
We've seen no such heroics from Querrey, and there is every reason to think he'll already be thinking ahead to the quicker courts in the summer.
