Bernarda Pera can shock the higher rated Daria Gavrilova on Thursday, with much more experience on the surface to call on.

Gavrilova is ranked almost 50 places higher in the world, but her 60-43 record on clay is dwarfed by Pera's 185-69. Against Top 100 players those trim down to 24-21 for Gavrilova and 11-8 for Pera, but it's clear the bigger serving American moves better on these courts and should be trusted to get the job done when the pair meet on Wednesday.
It will be the first meeting between the ladies, and Pera comes into this in confident mood after sweeping aside Elena Vesnina 6-3 6-2 in the opening round. She also reached the 3rd round in Madrid after coming through qualifying, and beat Polona Hercog, Aryna Sabalenka an Johanna Konta in that run.
Aside from a good win over Garbine Muguruza in Rome, Gavrilova hasn't really enjoyed much clay success this season, losing first round matches in Prague and Madrid, and only reaching the second round in Strasbourg.
1pt Pera to beat Gavrilova at 23/20 (Betfair)
