Saturday 16th June – 5pm Match Odds: Peru 5/2, Draw 9/4, Denmark 29/20 Confirmed Penalty Takers: Peru – Christian Cueva, Denmark – Christian Eriksen

This doesn’t look a match for getting heavily involved in. Coming from South America, and qualifying against some tough sides, Peru must be respected. However, their 12-9-9 record in competitive matches since 2014 isn’t amazing, and there is always a doubt about the Atlantic crossing for sides into European based events. Their 38-35 goal difference in that time also lingers some doubt. Denmark certainly get the best our od Christian Eriksen – his 11 goals in qualifying was simply supreme, but whether they have the depth around him remains to be seen, and the attack looks uncertain at this point.
With 11 of Denmark’s goals in qualifying, Eriksen netted 44% of his sides goals. That ratio is unlikely to stay that high of course, but with Denmark expected to score around 55% of goals in this match theoretically, that definitely makes the odds on Eriksen opening the scoring look a little on the long side at 13/2. He’s well worth a bet, although it’s worth nothing that his record outside the last qualifying campaign was a much more modest 10 goals in 65 games. 1pt Eriksen to score the first goal at 13/2 (Bet365)
1pt Eriksen first goalscorer for Denmark at 15/4 (Bet365)
