Australia v Peru

Australia were our picks to finish bottom of Group C, but they surprised with a good point against Denmark and ran France reasonably close in the opening match in the group. That leaves them fighting on the final match day.

The reality is that a draw between France and Denmark would see the European sides through, so even a win for the Aussies in this one might now be enough though. Our pre-tournament ratings paid plenty of respect to Peru, and despite being bottom of the group, they only lost narrowly to both France and Denmark, and things would surely have been different had they not missed a penalty in the Denmark match.
That puts them as favourites in our eyes in this one, and with the pressure off, and Australia attacking, they could be poised to go home with at least one win in the suitcase.
Over their two games, Peru have managed 28 shots on goal - eight on target, 13 off, with 7 blocked. That compares very favourably to Australia who have 18 in total, six on target, seven off and five blocked.
It's not a game for big stakes, but a Peru win looks value at 8/5 in our eyes in this one.
1pt Peru to win at 8/5 (Blacktype)
