Iran v Portugal

Group B remains firmly alive after Spain and Portugal draw, and Iran beat Morocco. That means that just a point splits the top three, and it's a surprise to see Portugal out to as long as 8/11 in this one, considering they now need to win. Its got a lot to do with just how poor they looked against Morocco, but the truth has to be that that was simply one game, and we shouldn't be changing our view of this one based purely on that.

More so, given Iran will need to bring the game to Portugal if they are to qualify, which has to leave them more stretched than they would have expected to be in a game like this. They were 1/3 favourites to win this match when the markets were priced up at the start of the World Cup. Should situation have moved the price that much? No is the simple answer. Our first bet then is going to be on Portugal winning the match.
Winning is one thing. How they win is the next question with both Spain and Portugal locked together at the top of the group on four goals scored and three goals conceded. Portugal need to push on and get more if they want to top the group, so expect an attacking line-up until the end. It's gotta be worth backing the handicaps as well in our eyes in this one, with Portugal (-1) offered at 9/4 and (-2) at 13/2.
The match betting odds have also seen Ronaldo drift in the betting to even money to score at anytime, which looks decent on a man with four goals already and looking super committed.
2pts Ronaldo to score at anytime at evens (Unibet)
2.2pts Portugal to win at 8/11 (Betway)
1pt Portugal to win (-1) at 9/4 (Spreadex)
0.5pts Portugal to win (-2) at 13/2 (Spreadex)
