Spain v Russia

Spain failed to really impress in the Group stage, while Russia are arguably one of the surprise packages of the tournament, but the fact remains, Spain are side of serious quality and experience, and *should* make light work of Russia in this. Things rarely work out quite so easily in World Cup football though, and against a home side as well, so we'll think long and hard before taking the 8/13 on offer.

It's fair to say if I'm already so far on the fence, its worth moving on, and a more interesting angle could be the corners markets, where neither side have so far been involved in high corners affairs, despite the natures of the matches suggested they might have been - Spains battles with Morocco and Iran would usually have been the sort of games to produce a flurry. Their style of tap tap tap passing doesnt tend to send them wide and down the flanks.
So far, corners totals in Spain's matches have ended 8, 8 and 9, while Russia have seen their games end with 8. 11 and 6. It's worh also noting, previous Spain matches saw totals of 6,8,6,11,6 (v Russia).
We're going to be backing low corners in this one therefore, and it makes sense to back the lines on a slightly sliding scale. Under 9.5 Corners is 17/20 with Betway, while Under 8.5 is on offer at 11/8 with plenty of firms.
With nothing else screaming out, we'll cut short there, and move onto the next match!
2pts Under 9.5 Corners at 17/20 (Betway)
2pts Under 8.5 Corners at 11/8 (General)
