The 3rd round gets underway on Friday and we are back on the side of Guido Pella in this one.
Pella v Basilashvili
The Argentine takes on Nikoloz Basilashvili, and while he is far more suited to clay courts, his data over the past couple of years on hard courts looks a good deal better than his Georgian rival.

Looking at thier matches between players ranked 25-100 over the past two seasons on hard courts, Pella has won 65% of service points and 37% of receiving points - combined 102%. Basilashvili is a much more modest 55% and 36% (combined 91%). Thats given Pella a 6-6 record, and Basilashvili a 2-6 record.
Having played two epic matches in the heat, Basilashvili will surely be feeling fatigued ahead of this one. Hes spent over 6 hours on court already this week and played out 84 games, while Pella has played just 53 games.
1pt Pella to beat Basilashvili (13/20 UniBet)
Anderson v Shapovalov
Kevin Anderson is up to 5th in the World after his final appearance at Wimbledon, but that result wasn't any more than his form has deserved. On hard courts he is now an excellent 316-158 on hard courts. He reached the final of the Mubadala Championship at the start of the season, followed up with a final appearance in Pune, before winning the New York Open and then reaching the final in Acapulco. All in all, its been a very handy season for the South African, and he should be plenty good enough Denis Shapovalov.
The Canadian is up to world number 28 now, but his 20-23 record against Top 50 since the start of last season isn't yet good enough for match ups like this. It's 14-10 on hard courts compared to Anderon who is 21-13 on the same metric.
Anderson can be backed at 10/11 on the -3.5 games line, which looks more than possible.
2.2pts Anderson (-3.5 games) to beat Shapovalov at 10/11
