League Two - Best Bet

Just a single pick in League Two, as Bury welcome Notts County to Gigg Lane.

Bury are enjoying a pretty handy run - four wins and three draws from their last eight, and have consistently produced accompanying data that suggests they are capable of a solild promotion push this season - regularly showing themselves to be in the region of half a goal better, per match, than a mid-table League Two side. Ryan Lowe secured the signing of Nicky Maynard recently, and he looks a decent prospect down at this level, and after a few barren years will be hoping to reproduce his Crewe and Bristol City form. At just 31 he should be capable of a couple of decent years still.

Notts County started the season in woeful form - failing to win in their first 11 matches. We certainly commented about Harry Kewell's appointment, but his three wins and two draws in his opening ten matches as manager is better than we anticipated, so fair play to the Aussie so far.

We're not convinced they will have enough this weekend though. While performances have improved, they aren't yet ready to start smashing sides left, right and centre, and Bury should still be considered strong favourites in this one. We have the hosts in at around 4/7, so the 5/6 is more than acceptable here.

2pts Bury to beat Notts County at 5/6
