When Dean Smith left Brentford to take the wheel at Aston Villa a week ago, it raised more than a few eye-brows. There is little doubt that the Bees are a club gradually building under the astute eye of Matthew Benham, and its hard to feel its the right move for Smith.

His Villa side travel to Norwich this midweek, with the Canaries representing decent value at 6/4 to collect all three points. They took a little while to recover from the summer loss of James Maddison, but have now won six of their last eight and have lost just once in ten outings. In a tight league, their 54% shot ratio is steady enough and should see them knocking on the play-off door this season.
Villa have a lot of improvement to find if they are to launch that sort of assault, and Smith's debut win was only their secon win in 12 outings, so he surely has some work to do before confidence will be back up to the desired levels. They were no better than Swansea at Villa Park on Saturday, while Norwich were busy dominating Nottingham Forest. Back the 6/4 available on Norwich with Betway or Bet365 is the advice in this one.
2pts Norwich to beat Aston Villa at 6/4
