Regular readers will know we are fairly keen on Queen of the South this season. They might only be 6th in the table, but their performance data suggests they should probably be doing much better, and we give them a punchers chance when they visit league leaders Ayr on Saturday.

Looking at the pure numbers over the season so far, Ayr are converting an incredible 18% of their shots into goals - the league average this season is close to 14%, while they are conceeding from just 9% of the shots they have faced. They appear to be over performing at both ends of the park then. Their shots F/A column reads 130-113, and their on-target efforts read 59-35 - yet their For and Against Goals is a much more healthy 24-11. They also recently struggled past both Partick and Falkirk, which might suggest a slight wobble is coming.

Queen of the South are operating at a higher level arguably. Their numbers read 118-78 for shots, 55-28 for on target efforts, yet just 20-14 on the goals for and against. It's not a whole lot worse, and they could be more than competitve in this one.

We're backing Queen of the South / Draw in the double chance market at 10/11.

2.2pts QOS or Draw in Double Chance market
