Is Vincent van der Voort the worst counter in professional darts? Impossible to say for sure of course, but in my view, yes.

The Dutchman leaves himself on a bogey finish in almost 8% of legs and checks out just 4.7% of legs on a finish over 100 as a result. Putting those figures in context, of the top 32 in the competition, only two leave themselves on a bogey more the 4% of the time, and only three check out fewer than 8% of legs over 100.

He plays the hugely amiable Chris Dobey, and you just have to fancy Dobey to hit the highest check out of the match at 10/11 in this one based on those stats above. (Dobey checks out 9.09% of his legs on a 100+ finish, and leaves a bogey just 1.5% of the time)

In the same match, van der Voort does look too long in the 180s markets and should definitely be favourite. He averages around 0.07 180s per leg more than Dobey (0.28 v 0.21 per leg) so is decent enough value at 5/4 to hit the most in this match, with the best of seven limiting the chance of a tie.

Mervyn King v Brendan Dolan doesn't get the juices flowing for me quite honestly, but punting wise there are some angles.

Both men are keen on Double 16 which brings both itself, and the Green finishes into play enough to make them value prospects in my view.

King (27%) and Dolan (30.5%) are decent on D16, and those combined numbers make Double 16 marginal value at 3/1 to be the match winner, while I'd expect a "green finish" in somehting like 40% of legs - a 6/4 shot in other words. You can get 7/4 on that, so again, marginal, but worth putting into the portfolio for me.
