With nothing worth backing in our eyes in the afternoon session, we move straight onto Sunday evening, which kicks off with Roger Janssen against Wouter Vaes.

Janssen has enjoyed a really solid second half of 2018, and comes here in fine form. He win the Austria Vienna Open in June, before following up with the Luxembourg Open - bearing Gary Robson 6-3 in the final. Then it was the semi-finals in the Luxembourg Masters before another semi-final in the WDF Europe Cup Singles in September.

He should definitely have enough for Vaes who is one of the weaker players in this year's event. 8/13 for the match if fine for the bigger hitters, or worth banging in your accumulators, but for a single bet we'll back the (-1.5) handicap and hope he wins 3-0 or 3-1 to get paid at 5/4

1pt Janssen (-1.5 set) to beat Vaes at 5/4

Mark McGrath v Adam Smith Neale is a full watching brief. Smith Neale arrives just a week after getting back on his feet following a broken leg, and while his ability could allow him to compete strongly with anyone here this week, the injury recovery needs to be assessed before we think about anything more than the speculative 50/1 shot in the outright.

Wayne Warren v Mark Layton is the final match of the evening as the two welshmen do battle.

2018 was kind to Warren - he reached the Quarter Finals of the World Championships, the World Masters and the Zuiderduin Masters, so it has to go down as his best year to date. He also enjoyed a final appearance in the Denmark Masters and Semi-Finals in the Belgium and Swedish Opens.

He is head and shoulders about Layton who has only once been past the Last 16 of any event this season. That was in Wolverhampton, where he put a run together to get to the final, but having beaten Jon Mansell and Wes Newton that perhaps wasn't as good as it appeared at the time.

Warren is 10/11 with Ladbrokes to win on the (-1.5 sets handicap) and I'm happy to play at that price.

1.1pt Warren (-1.5 sets) to beat Layton at 10/11 (Ladbrokes)

Finally, Fallon Sherrock tackles Corrine Hammond in the Ladies match, and it's hard to see past Sherrock getting the job done here. She is currently ranked 4th in the WDF Ladies Rankings - with Hammond a lowly 18th. They are closer on the BDO rankings (6th v 8th).

Since the summer, Sherrock has won the Bruges Open, the World Trophy, Swiss Open, Helvetia Open and England National Championships (she took down those five back-to-back). She then reached the semi-final of the BDO Gold Cup, before winning the Welsh Masters and making the final of the Belgium Open.

In the latter part of the year she added semi-final appearances in the England Masters and the England Classic, Runners-Up medals at the Zuiderduin Masters and British Open, and another winners trophy from the England Matchplay.

It's been a very good year all said and done for Sherrock.

Corrine Hammond hasn't player at vaguely the same level - rarely getting past quarter-finals this year, and she will have to up her game considerably to have any chance in this one.

We'll back Sherrock in the match betting market at 1/2 which feels a better bet than the 2-0 correct score at 6/4. Average set winner price for the 2-0 to come in would be around 4/7, so the match bet seems more appealing.

2pts Sherrock to beat Hammond at 1/2
