Team news can be hugely important when betting on any football side. If Spurs were without Kane and Eriksen for instance, you would expect to see the market adjust. What about if similar players of influence were missing from Ayr United?

Well Ayr United's website report this week that Lawrence Shankland (28 goals in all competitions this season), Alan Forrest (16 1st team starts this season), Andy Geggan (19 1st team starts) and Jamie Adams (13 1st team starts) are all missing.

When you consider that Shankland has scored SIX times as many league goals as any other player for Ayr this season, and more than the rest of the squad put together, you have to worry for them coping without him.

Fortunately they play Falkirk this week - bottom of the table on merit. Nevertheless, I'm not sure Ayr should be as short as 4/11 in this one, and there have to be ways to support Falkirk here.

You can back the Draw/Falkirk double chance at 2/1 (the same as backing Falkirk on the +1 handicap). It's also worth noting that home advantage isn't worth a great deal in the Scottish Chammo this season - 33 home wins and 31 away wins. You can be sure they wouldn't be 4/11 if they were playing at Falkirk.

2pts Falkirk/Draw Double Chance at 2/1 (General)

Keep in mind that playing away isn't a huge disadvantage, we also like the chances of Queen of the Soutth when they go to Inverness. There are just a couple of points between the sides, and Inverness have won just one at home all season.

It's been a strange place to play football this year, with seven of their nine games in the league at home ending in draws.

Queen of the South have drawn five their last eight as week - mostly reflecting relatively low goal expectations in their games making the stalement rather more likely.

We'll take Queen of the South on the draw no bet market for this reason at 23/10 with Betfair/PaddyPower. They are marginally bigger at 7/2 to win the match, but I'd rather bet knowing the draw won't see us lose our cash in this one.
