Barry Geraghty is aboard his second favourite in as many races in the Pertermps as he rides Sire Du Berlais in this one – the warm 9/2 favourite, but behind there are a pack of contenders with little to split them and this looks a real puzzle to solve.

No fewer than 12-13 horses are currently on offer between 10/1 and 20/1 so it’s clearly not going to be the easiest race to find an angle in with any significant confidence – and there are 26 in the field at latest count.
Betfair and Coral offer six places in this one, Bet365 and Betfred are 1/4 odds while most are 1/5, while the place to avoid is Marathon and Sporting who only pay four places.
Geraghty has solid claims though and should handle the trip with ease. He looked to have more to give in last season's Martin Pipe and this has been the target since that day and it would be a huge disappointment to see him out of the frame. We reckon the 9/2 is worth a dabble here.
Of the chasing pack Walk To Freedom and Flemcara complete a decent looking trio against the field - the former running an excellent race at Leopardstown on his last appearance, ending up second over the 3 miles. It should be great preparation for this.
1pt ew Sire du Berlais at 9/2 at Paddy Power (6 places, 1/5)
1pt ew Flemcara at 16/1 at Paddy Power (6 places, 1/5)
1pt ew Walk to Freedom at 20/1 at Bet365 (5 places, 1/4)
