Tranmere could equal a 28-year-old record when they visit Colchester this weekend. Not since 1991 have they managed six consecutive league victories, but that’s exactly the opportunity presenting itself as they seek to extend a seven-match unbeaten run. That’s been achieved with five clean sheets, and their 4-1 demolition of Grimbsy last week was impressive.

Colchester look to be on the wane at just the wrong time – slipping to eighth after their 3rd 3-0 reversal in four matches – a run which sandwiched a 3-0 win for the Us against Newport. Having been cast aside so lightly by Swindon, Forest Green and Exeter will be a worry for John McGreal though and they have now won just once in six.
Micky Mellon is reporting no serious injury problems ahead of the match for Tranmere. Zoumana Bakayogo has resumed training, but this one probably comes too soon, while Adam Buxton is back in contention.
For Colchester Frank Nouble is a key returnee, while Tom Lapslie has an outside chance of being fit for this one, but is more likely to miss out. Harry Pell and Brandon Comley miss out once again.
1pt Tranmere to beat Colchester at 21/10 (Bet365)
Lincoln are going up this season, but they will need to keep their foot on the gas if they are to close out the season as Champions given the relentless form of Bury behind them. Unbeaten in 13 now, Crawley represent an easier opponent than many.
With just two wins from their last 12 outings, and a 6-1 defeat at Crewe underlining just how far Gabriele Cioffi’s side have fallen in recent months, Crawley will prepare for this one without suspended striker Ibrahim Meite. Luke Gambin remains on the sidelines, and they have limited options to shuffle the pack after Crewe’s rout.
Lincoln on the other hand are performing admirably – shot data suggests they are playing better now than at any other time in the season. Their last six matches have seen them win the shot-count by a combined 81-44 total, and they expect to have Lee Frecklington and Jason Shackell both back in their squad for this one.
It’s hard to see past the 19/20 quotes which are still about since the last of the double-your-dough prices went, and it remains big enough for a side who should have enough to cope with the relatively short trip south.
