League Two Best Bets

League Table merchants will be putting Mansfield on their coupons this week, with the Stags 2nd in League Two on 72 points and +27 GD, while Northampton are down in 14th, on 53 points and a -2 GD. But we're siding with the hosts in this one instead at a healthy 9/4.

Northampton have a couple of late fitness checks, but are otherwise at full strength, but Mansfield make the journey south without goalie Robert Olejnik (17/0), defenders Ben Turner (7/0) and Hayden White (19/0) and forwards Jordan Graham (8/0), Nicky Ajose (10/2) and Craig Davies (14/2). They could be very lightweight for this one.

Looking more recently, had the season started in February, we would see Mansfield on 17pts from 11 games, a few places below Northampton on 19 pts from 12 matches. The league table never lies, but it doesn't always tell the whole truth.

At 9/4 Northampton surely represent decent value in this one given they have lost just four games at home all season.

Down at Exeter team news is going to be critical, but we'll put up a speculative bet on Port Vale at this point given just how many players will be on the late fitness test machines for the Grecians.

Dean Moxley (35/3), Aaron Martin (23/3), Luke Croll (13/0), Troy Brown (9/0), Hiram Boateng (22/0), Lee Martin (30/1) and Jonathan Forte (26/5) have all been listed among the doubtful's for this fixture, and Exeter's recent shot data has been well below par, making them easy to oppose.

Port Vale have probably done enough to stay up now after four wins in six, but one last victory would surely make sure of it. Motivation might not be the highest of course, so we'll only chance a single point on this one, but Vale look value at 9/4 here.
