Miomir Kecmanovic has been steadily climbing up the ATP rankings for the past three to four years since breaking through as a 16 year-old. It’s not clear how far he can go, but a top 20 in the world looks highly probable, and coupled with a suitable surface and against an opponent who would much prefer to be playing on clay, and we have a recipe for the young-Serb to beat his more experienced Spanish rival.

Roberto Carballes Baena is at the other end in this one, but he is a man who has won just three grass matches in his entire nine-year career. He’s also avoided any indoor tournaments like the plague, and hardly even ventured onto hard courts unless absolutely required to pay the bills.
Kecmanovic on the other hand has taken to the surface like a duck to water – as he reached the final of the Turkish Airlines Open in Antlaya last week, only to lose in a final set decider to Lorenzo Sonego. As a rapidly rising player, I’m not sure the market has him fully within it’s grip yet, and I’m backing him at 6/5 on the (-1.5) set handicap at 6/5 with Unibet.
2pts Kecmanovic (-1.5 sets) to beat Carballes Baena at 6/5
