Miomir Kecmanovic did the job for us in round one, and we’re sticking with the young Serb as he takes on the experienced Benoit Paire.

The pair have never previously met, but Paire’s preference for clay has to be a key consideration in this one. He’s played 374 or his 811 matches on clay, and despite being a long-time top50 player has only achieved a 28-27 winning record on grass – his worst winning percentage on any surface. He’s only once been past the third round here at Wimbledon, although his 58% winning record at SW19 does make it his best slam.
This is very much a breakthrough season for Kecmanovic – prior to 2019 he has reached just a single Grand Slam or Masters main draw, but this season he’s already played in the main draw at the Aussie Open, French Open, Indian Wells (quarter-finalist) and Miami Open. He’s up to No.67 in the world now and continues to climb the rankings quickly, and his recent run to the final in Antalya proved he can compete at this level – that run saw him beat Ugo Humbert, Viktor Troicki and Jordan Thompson along the way.
Kecmanovic should be favourite in this one in my eyes, so a small bet at 5/4 looks worthwhile.
1pt Kecmanovic to beat Paire at 5/4
