Two top players clash in the 3rd Round on Friday as Daniil Medvedev and David Goffin meet. They have met once before – earlier this year at the Aussie Open, which the Russian prevailed in 3-0 on the Melbourne hard courts.

In terms of their styles and surface preference, Medvedev is a really nice grass court fit. He has a 29-15 record on grass, and additionally 16-6 on carpet and 75-37 indoors, which is always a nice indicator.
Goffin is more towards the clay end of the spectrum, performing best on the slower surfaces. His 26-21 grass record leaves plenty to be a desired for a player who has done so well over the past five years, but his 117-56 indoors record is handy enough, and he also went all the way to the final in Halle where he lost to Federer this year. He’s not dropped a set through his opening two matches at SW19, but drawing Bradley Klahn and Jeremy Chardy means he has yet to be properly tested. This season Goffin has two other semi-finals to his name on the main tour.
Form-wise for Medvedev was a finalist in Barcelona (on clay), Brisbane (Hard), a winner in Sofia (Indoors) and also reached semi-finals at Queens (last week), Monte Carlo and the AMRO World Tennis Championships in Rotterdam. He’s enjoying a fine season in short.
3pts Medvedev to beat Goffin at 49/50 (UniBet)
