Charlton v Stoke

In the Championship we’re going to keep stakes fairly modest, while we wait for the dust to settle a little. One side we do fancy are Charlton who look over-priced at 5/2 to beat Stoke this afternoon.

Lee Bowyer has been doing a good job at the Valley over the last couple of seasons, and they managed to win no fewer than 16 of their 23 home matches last season in League One. Stoke have made a few signings of course, but their away record in the Championship last campaign was truly awful – winning just three times away from home.
Charlton have already shown their ability by battling their way to three points at Ewood Park last week, and they look to have enough about them to survive this season. Stoke went down 2-1 at home to QPR, although were perhaps unfortunate not to get something from that match.
There probably won’t be miles between the sides this season, so 5/2 is definitely too long. It won’t last until kick off that’s for sure.
2pts Charlton to beat Stoke at 5/2 (Bet365)
