Northern Ireland v Germany

We've been through all the Monday Euro 2020 qualifiers, and found a single team who look to hold enough value to warrant getting involved with!

Northern Ireland have been ranked as high as 20th in the World on the FIFA rankings - that all time high coming in September 2017. A couple of years on, and they are still up in 29th, although the reality is they are somewhat less impressive when using the more accurate Elo rankings, which place them nearer 45th. They play host to Germany, and will definitely have it all to do, but a good home record bodes well for their chances of keeping it competitive.
Qualification for the 2018 World Cup saw them win six of their 12 qualifying matches - the most they have ever won in a qualification group, while the 17 goals they scored was also a high, and it was a similar story in qualifying for the 2016 Euros - winning six from ten, before going to the Euros and performing well. That was the first major championships they had reached since Mexico 86' and ensured they were seeded in Division B of the Nations League.
They come into this match on a run of five successive wins - beating Luxembourg 1-0 Belarus 1-0, Estonia 2-1, Belarus 2-1 and Estonia 2-0. It's true they have not been amazing opponents, but the important thing has been getting the results, and Ireland haven't let anyone down in that respect. That sees them top of the Group C, ahead of both Germany and Holland, and they will surely be starting to dream now!
Germany come here with a strong squad of course - including the likes of Timo Werner (26 caps, 10 goals), Ilkay Gundogan (34, 5), Marco Reus (42, 13), Toni Kroos (93, 15) and Manuel Neueru (89. 0), but N Ireland can frustrate them, and Germany may also might also mix things about after conceding four at home to Holland on Friday. It's also worth nothing that several of the home stars were rested last week - Jonny Evans, Craig Cathcart and Conor Washington all expected to return fresh for this one.
Northern Ireland can be backed +1.5 goals in this one, which would see return in the event of a Northern Ireland win, a draw, or a defeat by a single goal. It's 1.98 on Betfair which looks really competitive to us.
2pts Northern Ireland +1.5 Goals to beat Germany at 1.98 (Betfair)
