Scottish League Two - Saturday

Two bets of interest in Scottish League Two, starting in Edinburgh, where we fancy Annan to stage a slight upset.

Those who followed the division last season will remember well how strong Annan were in the second half of last season – and it would have been no surprise at all had they achieved promotion through the play-offs ultimately – they could well have been playing in League One this season. Of course the same was true of Edinburgh, who also missed out in the play offs.
Both teams already have their 2019/20 season off and running, with Edinburgh banking 10 points from their opening five matches, and Annan just behind on eight. Performance wise however, Annan have won the shot count 58-46 over their five matches, and edged the on-target efforts 22-20. That compares favourably with 50-67 for Edinburgh and 27-29 on-target. On a neutral venue, I couldn’t have much between these two, and with that in mind, Annan are value in this one at 3/1 with Bet365.
Cove Rangers are 4/7 to win at Brechin, and there can be little doubt they should be putting a hatful past Brechin. Brechin got absolutely battered by Albion a few weeks ago, but somehow escaped with all three points, which Queens Park the week before was a similar story where they ended up losing 3-0.
Cove have collected four wins and a draw from their opening five league games, recording a 17-7 goal difference in that time – an average of 4.8 goals per game! They have also won the shot count in every game so far with only Albion really keeping the game close (it ended four each!)
Cove are just 4/7 in the betting at the moment, so it could pay to back them in the derivative markets, and the 13/10 on them winning this one on the -1 handicap looks like a fair approach, with a tickle on the -2 as well at 7/2.
Recommended Bets
1pt Annan to beat Edinburgh at 3/1 (Bet365)
1pt Cove (-1) to beat Brechin at 13/10 (General)
1pt Cove (-2) to beat Brechin at 7/2 (Betfair, Paddy Power)
