Just a single goal has decided four of Brentford’s seven Championship matches this season, with their goals F/A column reading 5-6. That’s an average of just 1.57 goals per game, and has set a trend we could see continuing on throughout the season. The main summer signing of Pontus Jansson looks to have made a tangible impact.

They take on Stoke this weekend, a side who have produced just 78 shots this season – the division average is 87, so they are something lightweight and it’s little wonder they have scored just sevem goals themselves. It’s a similar story at the back, where they have allowed just 71 shots, although miraculously 17 of those have ended in the net – it’s highly unlikely they will continue to leak as many going forwards as their process seems sound enough and it’s likely just down to poor fortune in early season. We’ll back Under 2.5 goals in this one at 24/25 with Marathon.
