Sassuolo v Spal

Just a single point separated Sassuolo and Spal in Serie A last season, with both clubs very much in that "bottom half" club who know that every point of every game is vital to ensure you don't get sucked into the relegation battle. The division is very similar to the Premier League in that respect, and you have about half the division in the same boat.

After matches at Torina and Roma, and a home match against Sampdoria, Sassuolo have banked three points so far - slightly above par given the fixtures really. With two of those away, and all three likely to be top half sides this season, their opening shot data of 34-29 and 22-19 (on target) reads very nicely.
Spal have the same three points in their bag, having beaten Lazio, and lost to Atalanta (h) and Bologna (a). Probably about par for them in terms of results - both shot wise, they definitely could, and perhaps should, have lost all three. They were slightly second best against Lazio, and fairly well thrashed by Bologna and Atalanta. Overall their shot columns read 24-47 and on-target efforts 8-30. They deserve to be decent underdogs this weekend, and I'll happily take the even money which is available with a few of the less fashionable firms.
2pts Sassuolo to beat Spal at Evens (General)
