It’s been a decent start to 2019/20 for both Preston and Bristol City – the former especially given their average performances last campaign. This time around they find themselves third and with a 100% home record having dispatched Wigan, Stoke, Sheffield Wednesday and Brentford. Eight games into the season they have scored 14 and conceded seven, which is definitely an over-achievement on the chances they have created and allowed – 74-76 for a 49% shot ratio. They should certainly be content with their current position but must continue to work hard on the training ground.

Helpfully they come into this one fresh, having rested the majority of the first team for the Tuesday night visit of Manchester City.
Bristol City are a very similar story to Preston. Seventh in the table, and just a point behind, they too have a strong 13 goals scored to nine against, but also have pretty weak shot data – 89-128 thus far for a poor 42% shot ratio. It really does look like they are in a false position in the table and they are near the top of my “oppose” list right now as a team who punters could be backing without really seeing the whole picture.
Al things considered, Preston look the better equipped to collect the points in this one, and we’re backing the hosts at 11/10.
1pt Preston to beat Bristol City at 11/10
