Inverness travel to Morton this weekend looking to keep their early title pace going – 17 points from their opening nine league matches see Inverness just a point off Dundee Utd and Ayr at the top, and the trio are opening up a gap to the rest now.

The pair have already met twice this season, with Inverness enjoying home advantage in both fixtures, and winning 5-0 in the league and 3-1 the following week in the Challenge Cup. There really does look a class gulf between the sides, and it’s the likes of Morton whom Inverness need to be beating consistently if they are to prevail and reach the SPL come the end of the season.
Morton have now won just once in seven, and their overall record against sides in the top three this season reasons 0-0-4, three goals for, 18 against. It’s a real concern given their recent form and it’s likely to get worse following this one.
The market doesn’t like Inverness here – moving out from evens to 23/20 in the last 24 hours, but I’m more than happy to take it on, and the 23/20 is a great bet here.
