It’s an early relegation clash in Scottish League One this weekend when Montrose entertain Stranraer, and all the data points towards a home win and a continued period of difficulty for Stranraer.

Let’s start with Montrose, who really are not enjoying their season so far. A minus five goal difference has contributed towards an eighth place in the table above just Peterhead and Stranraer. They have at least banked three wins this season – all coming in their last three outings, and ending a six match losing run prior to that. Wins at Clyde and Airdrie were especially pleasing surely, so they come into this one with real optimism that the season ahead can continue to improve.

Stranraer have endured every bit as much pain, and they are now seven matches without a win, and have won just once in their last 13 outings. Shot-data wise, Stranraer have taken just 37% of shots in their matches (87-148) and that’s a ratio which has progressively been worsening. They have managed the fewest shots on target of anyone in the division (32) an allowed the most against (60). They look there for the taking, and odds-against quotes on Montrose should be snapped up confidently.

3pts Montrose to beat Stranraer at 11/10 (General)
